Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Vice President (VP) Editorial to spearhead our editorial strategy and drive transformative content across our portfolio. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a pioneering editorial team and deliver content that supports HCPs seeking trusted peer learning and medical information for better clinical decisions. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development & Execution: Craft and oversee a comprehensive editorial strategy that leverages Formedics’ diverse platforms to maximize engagement and impact. Incorporate contemporary content creation methods to create tailored engagement experiences, including leveraging peer networks and opinion leaders. Identify opportunities for editorial partnerships or other content expansion strategies.
Content Creation: Oversee the creation of high-quality, insightful content across print and digital formats, utilizing advanced data insights, AI, and novel content formats and delivery channels to enhance engagement and relevance.

KOL/DOL Development: Identify and engage a network of thought leaders for each specialty, leveraging their first-line medical knowledge to shape the content roadmap and their peer/influencer networks to enhance content distribution.
Team Leadership: Manage and expand a remote and hybrid editorial team of over 20 FTEs plus freelancers, including full-time and freelance contributors, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and strategic goals. Promote a culture of openness to new ideas and modern content approaches.

Operational Efficiency: Streamline and optimize workflows and processes to significantly improve efficiency.
Integration & Collaboration: Unify editorial teams from various acquisitions, driving collaboration and coherence in content strategy.

Increased Engagement: Innovate with new products that leverage user-generated content (UGC) to boost HCP engagement. Create tailored engagement experiences that leverage an understanding of novel communication channels and formats.
Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with Product Management and Audience Growth to develop and implement cutting-edge products that differentiate Formedics in the market.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 15+ years in a senior editorial role within healthcare, life sciences, or related fields, with a proven track record of success.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage editorial teams, including remote teams, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strategic Insight: Experience in developing and executing editorial strategies that enhance digital engagement and brand presence.

Data Utilization: Proficiency in using data to guide editorial decisions and optimize content delivery.
Content Expertise: In-depth knowledge of professional medical content and HCP networks.

KOL & UGC Experience: Proven ability to engage KOLs and leverage UGC to drive content effectiveness via modern content creation methods and platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Team Integration: Experience managing and integrating editorial teams across diverse organizational structures and acquisitions.

AI Proficiency: Skill in leveraging AI for content optimization and targeted engagement strategies.

Scalability: Experience in scaling editorial teams and adapting to new technologies and content formats, including innovative engagement methods.

Education: Graduate degree in medicine or health related field.
